Hello my name is Claudia, and I am a Bill-Withers-holic. I took my last gulp ("Watching You, Watching Me") in 1985. Inevitably, I have been sober since, although I have had massive withdrawal symptoms from time to time. Last week I relapsed and to tell you the truth: I don't regret it at all. I discovered Michael Kiwanuka, took just one little sip, but I'm all hooked now.
Born to Ugandan parents, the London-based musician recently released his single "Home Again", which will be followed by his debut of the same title in March this year.
The 24-year old guitarist and singer started performing in clubs and pubs, until he got signed by Communion Records to record the EP's "Tell Me A Tale" and "I'm Getting Ready". After being invited to support Adele on her tour in summer 2011, Michael Kiwanuka came off as BBC's Sound of 2012 winner.
So, check out the music, watch the beautiful video below (filmed at the Mauerpark in Berlin), keep the name in mind and spell it correctly: Key-wa-noo-ka.
