memo
Rob Ellis aka Pinch is starting the new year like he rounded up the last one: with a high profile release. After his massive collaborative effort alongside likeminded sonic scientist Shackleton on Honest Jon’s, the Tectonic kingpin was commissioned to step behind the decks for the 61st edition of Fabric’s prolific mix-cd series. And, the Bristolian comes correct with a massive session of twisted techno, half-step and bass music tribalisms effortlessly weaving together anthems like Boddika and Joy O’s notorious ”Swims“, Shed’s stomping new Equalized record, Roly Porter’s short but sweet modern classical excursion ”Hessra“, neckbreaking bass wobblers from Jakes and various tunes from the man himself. Addison Groove, Goth Trad, Distal Deleted Scenes, Roska, Emika Illum Sphere and Distance all feature, as well. Needless to say, it’s pretty lethal and floorshaking stuff we strongly recommend for recreational listening.
