Hans-Peter Lindstrøm is back with his fourth solo-album. And „Six Cups Of Rebel“ is his most ambitious effort to date. Informed by his vast taste in music and his supreme knowledge of disco dynamics, the Norwegian producer gives us a kaleidoscope of cosmic disco, balearic house and prog-rock infused grandezza. There is no denying that Lindström aims for the big screen with this album. Just listen to the epic organ-fueled opener „No Release“ or the album’s closing track „Hina“ with its swirling arpeggios and ceremonious choirs rubbing against each other. And, the five tracks between opening and closing are equal parts Pink Floyd and Daniele Baldelli. Uplifting, proggy and not too serious. A quirky leftfield album for the modern disco and the contemporary acid-head.
