Keith Kenniff, better known as Goldmund, (or Helios) is back with his second album under his own name. And „Branches“ is another beautiful piece of modern classical composition mixed with just the right amount of electronics. As always, with Kenniff the strings and the solo piano take center stage here, twirling, twinkling and unfolding and reminding us why his music was lately discovered by various film directors in Hollywood. As Goldmund’s „The Malady Of Elegance“ or „Corduroy Road“ „Branches“ has an exquisite, emotionally charged cinematic power full of grand and hauntingly beautiful moments. If you like Johan Johannson, Hauschka or the collaborations of Ryuichi Sakamoto and Fennesz you will love this. Highly recommended.
