Three years after „Escapements,“ Zagreb-based Petar Dundov has released his second album on Belgium's legendary Music Man label. And, while his first album had an equally melodic, yet classic minimalist approach to techno, „Ideas From The Pond“ takes you on a journey through cosmic synth explorations, Italo disco, throbbing techno and trance. Yes, the album is trancey. In the best possible way: Evocative and sublime. Four of the seven tracks are longer than twelve minutes, building and building. The continuous mix, which clocks in at a little over 70 minutes is the best way to enjoy the narrative force of Dundov’s meticulously crafted pieces. Fans of labels like Spectrum Spools or Carl Craig should be equally happy with this truly beautiful sophomore album.
