It should be clear by now that I'm a sucker for anything on John Elliott’s Spectrum Spools label. And, Eliott doesn't seem to slow down when it comes to releasing. As long as he finds such outrageously odd and fascinating music like Human Teenager’s hazy psychedelic post-punk pop for instance, there is no need to even consider that. Human Teenager are Greg Dalton and Taylor Richardson, and the duo serves a wild cocktail of synth bursts, strangely catchy hooklines and Dalton’s heavily (and by that I mean heavily) processed vocals. „Animal Husbandry“ might be Spectrum Spools most accessible release yet – as well as one of the label’s most deranged. In a just and curiously weird world, songs like „Permanent Skin“ or „Locate Yourself“ would be in the charts.
