It’s been a while since Girl Unit’s last transmission. Maybe one reason why he is returning with a mini-album sized EP featuring six banging tracks, which once again remind us of his versatility as a producer. Things start off with „Ensemble,“ a bouncing electro-boogie track that, come the jubilating Tensnake-like melody in the middle break, will have the dancefloor going bonkers in no time. „Cake Boss“ on the other hand sounds like an old Steve Poindexter jam re-wired for the bass music massive. A heavy and relentless jacker, also destined to cause serious damage on the floor (well, all tracks on here are, really). „Plaza“ and „Double Take“ are low-riding electro jams, while „Rezday“ and Club Rez“ finish the EP off on a ravey note with dayglo synth melodies and trancey arpeggios. Pretty good stuff.
