Slam have been a mainstay of Glasgow’s techno scene since the very early days of the rave-o-lution, back when a whole generation in Great Britain started to spend their time at illegal raves, in old warehouses or in dark basement clubs. Orde Meikle and Stuart McMillan the two producers behind Slam co-founded the now legendary Soma Records in 1991 and released a serious amount of techno records that are widely considered as UK techno classics today. „Collecting Data“ is a heavy collection of remixes and original tracks the duo produced between 2008 and 2012. Quite a few of the original tracks have been taken from their four-year-old sub-label Paragraph, while the high profile remix commissions include tracks from Radio Slave, Josh Wink, The Black Dog, Pan Pot, Sasha or Shlomi Aber and Kenny Larkin. Twenty-six tracks strong „Collecting Data“ showcases Slams take on post-Minus minimal techno - especially suited for the club’s bigger dancefloors.
