On his anticipated debut album the young Dutch producer Delta Funktionen effortlessly explores the links between classic electro music, italo-disco and muscular techno. Another classy transmission from Delsin Records.
Over the last two years Niels Luinenburg aka Delta Funktionen has become one of the central figures on planet Delsin (the Amsterdam-based record label-conglomerate he releases on) and the rest of the global techno sphere. While most of his releases so far were lessons in muscular industrial strength dancefloor-demolition, his anticipated debut album, „Traces,“ surprises with a few very elegant sonic detours, in fact, the first three tracks of „Traces“ explore classic electro-infused territories with shimmering, retro-futuristic synth melodies and booming 808 drums somewhere between Convextion’s electro moniker ERP or The Other People Place. Come track four Delta Funktionen switches into techno gear with the nasty acid workouts „Redemption“ and „And If You Know,“ before he surprises us once more with his epic italo-disco-gone-into-the-space closing track „On A Distant Journey.“ A beautifully crafted versatile debut album.
