Watergate 11 Solomun

Hamburg-based DJ and producer Solomun is on top of the world at the moment. His take on 80s-infused electro funk, 90s r&b-sampling house and silky nu disco has catapulted him (and his two labels Diynamic and 2DIY4) into new heights of worldwide dancefloor affection. So, it was just a matter of time until Solomun would be asked to mix his first commercial mix-cd. The folks at the notorious Berlin-based Watergate club did it and Solomun does not dissapoint. His mix, the eleventh in the ongoing series of Watergate mixes, moves smoothly from r&b hits like Lucy Pearl’s „Don’t Mess With My Man“ to early noughties French house from the likes of Superfunk or The Supermen Lovers into Mathew Jonson’s still majestic and mesmerizing „Typerope.“ It’s a sunny, laid back, feel good affair, which doesn’t take itself or life too seriously. Solomun’s exclusive track „Kackvogel“ is the best example for the happy-go-lucky vibe of the mix. It’s a track you might love to hate, but you will find yourself tapping your feet to it everytime you hear it.
